As a business that has grown on referrals from my amazing clients, I haven't paid a lot of attention to digital marketing and social media. After launching Alluvia Financial I wanted to give myself some time to learn about socials and how it could work for me as a service based industry. I have read countless e-books, sat in on webinars, listened to keynotes at conferences and stalked some insta famous gals who are doing amazing things in the space.

Through my friends at The Launch Gals in Bendigo (a group designed to support women in business locally), I was e-introduced to Amanda from Plush Content Co and Hannah from HiHannahMaree. These girls are doing great things on the 'GRAM so when I was invited to spend a weekend with them, I jumped at the opportunity. It has been a big year for me and I saw this as a great opportunity to get away and focus on my plans for 2019.

The BIZ BABES Retreat was held in Kings Beach in Caloundra on the 24th and 25th of November. The girls rented out a gorgeous place for us as a few of us were spending the night too. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt very welcome and good vibes. I knew it was going to be a great weekend.

The day started outside on the grass where we all introduced ourselves and talked about our goals for the weekend. Mine was to focus on my plans for 2019 and also get some tips to up my INSTA game. This was followed by a photo shoot with Amanda and a session to audit our current insta. Hannah had great insights into what works and what doesn’t and I took a lot out of this.

After lunch we worked on our Marketing Content Pillars and then did a HOT SEAT session where were each shared an idea we wanted to work on and the group gave amazing feedback. I got so many great ideas out of this and I am excited about a few things I am going to be working for you in the new year.

As the day came to an end, we walked down to the beach to enjoy the sunset. It was nice to relax after a big day and enjoy the fresh salt air.

We spent the night enjoying some wine and pizza and a very strong meditation led by Hannah.

I left the retreat with new friends and some great clarity on my goals for 2019!

What about you? Have you taken the time to devise a plan for you and your business for 2019? I'd love to hear what you have in store :)
